Last year, Google announced several new products, including the Pixel 9 series, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Buds Pro 2.

This year, Google is expected to announce the Pixel 9a and Pixel 10 series, which will be even better technically.

While we wait for official confirmation, a new leak has revealed the codenames of the 2026 Pixel phones.

According to reports, Google is considering using the Tensor G4 chipset in next year’s Pixel 10a. The Pixel 9a is also likely to use the Tensor G4 chipset.

In today’s article, we will discuss what features will be available in Google’s 9a and 11 series and what will be their price.

Google Pixel 11 Series

All four models in the Pixel 11 series are expected to use the Tensor G6 chipset. This second-generation in-house mobile chipset from Google may be codenamed “Malibu”.

The series is expected to launch in the second half of 2026, if we keep in mind Google’s previous release schedule.

According to internal documents seen by Android Authority, Google is working on four Pixel 11 series devices with codenames related to “bear”.

According to the report, the standard Pixel 11 could be codenamed “cubs” or 4CS4. The “grizzly” or CGY4 codename could be for the Pixel 11 Pro, while the “Kodiak” or PKK4 codename could be associated with the Pixel 11 Pro XL. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold could be codenamed “yogi” or 9YI4.

Google Pixel 11 Series Launch

If Google uses the Tensor G4 chipset in the Pixel 10a, the feature set of this handset may be limited compared to other Pixel 10 series models.

The Pixel 10 series is likely to include the standard Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and Pixel 10 Pro XL.

All of these may feature Google’s in-house Tensor G5 SoC. These devices are expected to launch in the second half of 2025.

The current generation Pixel 9 series runs on the Tensor G4 chipset, and the same chipset is rumored to power the Pixel 9a as well.

If the claim that Google is planning to use Tensor G4 in the Pixel 10a is true, it could be a cost-cutting measure.
