How to turn on dark mode in Google Calendar app?

It’s very easy to enable dark mode in Google Calendar app. Here we are going to talk different methods which you can use to turn on dark mode.

Method 1^st: Turn On Dark Mode Manually on Google Calendar

If you want dark mode only on Google Calendar and leave your android system theme in light mode then use this method.

On Android phone:

Open the Google Calendar app on your phone.
Tap the three lines (menu) at the top left.
Go to “Settings”.
Tap “General”.
Select the “Theme” option.
From here you can select “Dark”.

On iPhone:

Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Go to “Display & Brightness”.

From here you can turn on “Dark” mode. Keep in mind, the Calendar app will only come in dark mode if the system-wide dark mode is turned on on the iPhone.

Method 2^nd: Enable Dark Mode using System Settings

Your phone’s system also supports dark mode, that means, when you make your phone’s entire look black, then all the apps will also become black.

On Android Phone:

First of all, swipe down from the top of your phone’s screen, from there you will see some buttons.
Swipe down again, so that all the buttons are visible.
Now you will find a “Dark Theme” button, press it.
Or you can go to Settings, find “Display and Touch” there and then turn on “Dark Theme”.

On iPhone:

Open your iPhone’s Settings, then go to “Display and Brightness”.
There you will find the “Dark” option, select it.
Or you can turn on “Automatic”, so that the phone will automatically change the theme according to day and night.
Now when you open Google Calendar, it will also become black!

How to Enable Google Calendar Dark Mode on PC?

Sadly, Google has not yet provided an official dark mode for the Calendar on PC. But don’t worry, we will tell you some ways in which you can bring a little darkness.

Force Dark Mode in Chrome Browser:

Type chrome://flags in the address bar in the Chrome browser.
Search for “Force Dark Mode for Web Contents” in the search box.
Enable it and restart Chrome.
Now some websites, including Google Calendar, may appear in dark mode.

Using Extension

If you are using Chrome browser or Microsoft edge or any other browser, by using extension you can apply dark mode theme on your Google Calendar on PC. Here are the steps:

First of all, go to Chrome Web Store and search for “Dark Reader”.
Got it, right? Now just click on “Add to Chrome” and then select “Add Extension”.
Near the address bar, on the top right, you will see three dots, click on them. Select “Extensions” from there.
Now you will see all the extensions. Click on the small pin next to “Dark Reader” so that it remains visible always.
Now again click on “Dark Reader” and select “Site List” > “Invert Listed Only”.
Write “calendar.google.com” here. That means, you have to tell that only Google Calendar is to be shown in dark mode.
Now go back to Google Calendar and see – the magic has happened! Dark mode has been enabled!
