Infinix has launched another interesting smartphone called the Infinix Note Edge 5G. This phone is priced around ₹20,000 and packs everything from a curved AMOLED display, a massive battery, JBL sound, and AI features. I thoroughly tested this phone and am sharing everything I can about it, including how it feels, what’s great, and what’s missing. Let’s get started.
Unboxing: What’s in the Box?
The box feels absolutely premium as soon as you open it. It has a silk fiber like texture on the back. Inside, the phone comes with a 45W fast charger, a Type-C cable, a back cover, and a quick guide. Getting a charger is a great deal at this price. The phone glows with Active Halo Light as soon as it’s removed, which looks great.
Design: Slim and Comfortable
The phone’s design is absolutely stunning. The back has a silk fiber finish, which feels extremely premium. The frame is plastic, but the finish is so good that it doesn’t feel cheap. The thickness is only 7.2mm and the weight is around 185g to 190g. Despite the 6500mAh battery, it feels light. The curved back and display make it a comfortable fit in the hand.
The Active Halo Light on the camera module glows. Calls, notifications, and charging light up in different patterns and colors, all customizable.
Below the power and volume buttons is a customizable shortcut button like opening the camera or launching the assistant. IP65 rating, meaning it’s dust and splash proof. Dual SIM is available, but there is no memory card slot not hybrid. Wi-Fi 5, NFC, and an IR blaster are also available. Colors include Silk Green and two other options. They all look great.
Display: Curved and Bright
The display is a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate. Colors are vibrant, contrast is excellent, and peak brightness reaches 4500 nits, making it clear even in sunlight. The in-display fingerprint scanner is optical and works fast.
Always-On Display is 5 seconds not permanent, but has Gorilla Glass 7i protection. Video playback supports 2K HDR Widevine L1 on Netflix, but no HDR. The curved edges make the phone feel premium, but some people may experience accidental touch issues.
Performance: Solid in Daily Use
The processor is a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 6nm, which is good enough for casual use and light gaming. The AnTuTu score is around 7.5 lakh. With LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, apps open quickly. BGMI can run at 60fps.
It gets a little warm during heavy gaming or multitasking, but there is no overheating. Running on XOS 16 Android 16, animations feel like iOS. Depth effects, icon customization, and the AI OS assistant Flex AI are all great. Three years of OS updates and five years of security updates are promised. Infinix has improved the software this time around.
Camera: Decent Shots
There is a 50MP main camera on the back not ultra-wide, and a 13MP selfie camera on the front. Daylight photos are sharp and have natural colors. Portrait mode has good edge detection.
Video is up to 2K 30fps or 1080p 60fps. Low light performance is decent. AI features like AI Erase, AI Notes, and an extender are all available. The camera is reliable for this price, but the lack of ultra-wide angle makes it feel a bit limited.
Battery: Beast Mode
6500mAh battery comfortably lasts 1.5 to 2 days with normal use. 45W fast charging and reverse charging are supported. Bypass charging is also available which charges directly from power when gaming. Battery life is this phone’s biggest plus.
Sound and Extras: JBL Tuned Speakers
Dual stereo speakers are JBL tuned, sound is loud and clear. Haptics are normal. NFC, IR blaster, and wet touch support are also available.
Pricing: Good Deal with Offers
Starting price ₹21,999 for 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB ₹23,999, and 8GB + 256GB ₹25,999. With offers, the phone can be found under ₹20,000. Check bank discounts and exchange offers.
