If you are looking for the best smartphone under 15k, then let me tell you that Lava has launched another amazing phone in the budget segment, named Lava Blaze AMOLED 2! This phone is a new addition to its Blaze series, and it has so many features that you will have to wonder if this is the best deal in the budget of ₹14,000.
I tested it, and this phone is extremely sleek, stylish, and powerful. If you want a solid phone under ₹15,000, then do check it out. Let’s start a straight review!
What’s in the box?
The box is very simple but classy – the phone’s design and #ProudlyIndian are written on the front. Inside you find the phone, 33W charger (yes, charger is in the box!), Type-C cable, SIM ejector pin, and some paperwork. After unboxing it, it seems that Lava has given a premium vibe even in a budget phone.
Design: Super Slim, Super Light
The first thing that comes to mind after seeing this phone is – how thin it is! With a thickness of 7.55mm and a weight of 174g, this is the slimmest phone in the segment. It feels very light and comfortable in the hand, not bulky at all. The design is absolutely fresh – there is a unique texture at the back, which gives a bit of a Pixel-like camera bar vibe, but has its own unique style. The edges are flat and boxy, but do not pinch while gripping, the device feels quite smooth.
The colours are Midnight Black and Feather White – the black one feels quite sleek. It has an IP64 rating, so there is no tension from light water or dust. Talking about the ports, there is a Type-C port, single SIM or hybrid slot (SIM + microSD), and a speaker grill at the bottom. There is a noise cancellation mic and IR blaster on the top – can control TV or AC! There is a power button and volume rocker on the right side. Tell me in the comments, how many marks will you give to the design?
Display: AMOLED
6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. Colours are extremely vibrant and with 800 nits brightness, they look clear even in the sun. HDR content is supported, so watching videos on YouTube or Netflix is a pleasure. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor, which is normal optical but works quite fast. It is extremely rare to find such a display at this price – perfect for content watching and gaming!
Performance: Dimensity 7060
It has MediaTek Dimensity 7060 chip, with 6GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage. AnTuTu score is 5,00,000+, which is quite solid in this segment. Games like BGMI and Call of Duty run smoothly at 60fps – no lag or jitter. Did a long gaming session, and due to the cooling chamber, heating was also under control. There was no interruption in opening apps, multitasking, or scrolling – absolutely fluid experience.
Battery: All-Day Backup
5000mAh battery, which comes with 33W fast charging. In normal use (social media, videos, calls), 7-8 hours of screen-on time is easily available. If you are a light user, then the whole day will pass. Charging speed is decent, it gets almost full in 1 hour. The battery life is quite reliable for this price.
Camera: Sony Sensor
There is a 50MP Sony IMX752 main camera at the back and an 8MP selfie camera at the front. Photos are extremely sharp during the day – detailing, HDR, and dynamic range are quite good. Skin tones are natural and textures are clear. Noise control is good even in low-light and night mode is quite useful. Selfie camera is also decent – perfect for social media.
Video recording supports up to 1080p@60fps and the quality is quite clean. Features include night mode, portrait, panorama, pro mode, slow motion, time-lapse, and AI-based modes like document correction. This camera is an absolute money vasool in this budget!
Software: Clean and Smooth
Stock Android 15 is available, which is absolutely bloatware-free and ad-free – that’s a big deal! The UI is smooth, and there are no unnecessary apps. Lava has promised 1 Android upgrade (Android 16) and 2 years of security updates, which is enough in this segment. You can add apps from the Play Store for customization, but the default experience is absolutely clean.
Extras: Some Different
Dual stereo speakers, which are quite loud and clear at this price. The bass is a bit low, but is enough for videos or music. The IR blaster is a bonus – can control home electronics. There is also 5G support, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB-C 2.0. You can insert a microSD in the hybrid slot, but there is no eSIM support.
Pricing: Is it a deal or not?
The price of 6GB+128GB variant is ₹13,499, which is available on Amazon and offline stores. Getting AMOLED display, slim design, solid camera, and clean software in this price is great value for money!
