OPPO has launched a new budget segment smartphone the OPPO K14x 5G. This phone is available for just around ₹14,999 to ₹15,000, and features like a massive 6500mAh battery and 45W fast charging are surprising people.

But does it really beat phones like the Vivo T4x, Realme P4x, or Moto G57 Power? I tested this phone in detail, and today I will tell you what is good and what is wrong with it. Let’s get straight to the point.

Unboxing: Everything’s in the Box

Opening the box reveals the phone first, followed by a charger, cable, SIM PIN, and paperwork. You don’t have to purchase a separate charger, a big plus for a budget phone. The packaging is simple, but the phone feels solid in the hand.

Design: Simple and Comfortable

The phone’s back is patterned, which looks good. The camera module is in a simple vertical style. Weighing around 212g, it feels a bit heavy due to the large battery. It’s comfortable to hold, and the side mounted fingerprint scanner works quickly every time. Overall, a good design for the budget with no complaints.

Battery: The biggest plus point

The 6500mAh battery is this phone’s biggest highlight. It easily lasts 1.5 to 2 days with normal use including calls, social media, and YouTube. I tested it and even after gaming on 5G and heavy use, I got 6 plus hours of screen on time and 38 percent battery left. With 45W fast charging, it charges quickly which is a great combo for this price. No complaints about battery life.

Camera: Decent for the budget

The 50MP main camera on the back delivers good photos at 1x and 2x. Details and colors look natural, and even in low light, photos are bright and usable. Edge detection is good in Portrait mode. Video captures stable footage up to 1080p. The 5MP front camera is basic for selfies and details are low in low light. Overall, the camera is decent at this price, but not a great one.

Display: 120Hz Smooth, Low Resolution

The 6.75 inch LCD display offers smooth scrolling with a 120Hz refresh rate. Brightness is good outdoors, but the resolution is only 720p HD+, not Full HD. High resolution videos on YouTube don’t play fully, and details are a bit low when viewing content. There’s a punch hole selfie camera, which is nice. The display is average for the budget.

Sound Quality: Single Speaker

It has a single speaker, but the sound is loud and clear. There’s no Dolby Atmos, but it’s sufficient for everyday music and calls. The lack of dual speakers is a slight disappointment.

Software: ColorOS 15 on Android 15

The phone ships with ColorOS 15 on Android 15. The UI is clean, and the features are good. You’ll get two major OS updates and three years of security updates. It’s the latest Android, but updates are a bit lacking compared to competitors.

Performance: Good for normal use

The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor is smooth for everyday tasks like social media, calls, and light apps. The 4GB RAM variant feels a bit laggy, but higher end variants improve performance.

BGMI supports 60fps gaming, but heavy games can be a bit choppy. The 5G network is occasionally unstable and switches to 4G. Call quality is poor due to the single mic, with some background noise.

Conclusion
