In today’s article, we will discuss what features you get in the Samsung M56 5G, what its price will be, and when it is likely to be launched in the Indian market.

Samsung Galaxy M56 5G Design:

Samsung claims that the Galaxy M56 5G will be the thinnest phone in its segment, measuring just 7.2mm thick. This is noticeably thinner than its previous model, the Galaxy M55 5G (which had a thickness of 7.8mm). Despite having a large battery, the device is expected to weigh around 180 grams, which is the same as the Galaxy M55 5 G.

The device will have Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on both the front and back, which will provide better scratch resistance and drop protection (safe even if dropped up to 2 meters and 4x better scratch resistance than the older. The phone will come with a glass back and metal camera deco, giving a new and premium look to the Galaxy M series.

Samsung Galaxy M56 5G Display

The Galaxy M56 5G will feature a sAMOLED+ display with Vision Booster technology that offers better visibility in outdoor light. The display is said to be 33% brighter and have 36% thinner bezels than the Galaxy M55 5G, offering an even more immersive viewing experience.

Samsung Galaxy M56 5G Camera Quality

The device will feature a triple rear camera setup, which includes a newly designed module. Optical image stabilization (OIS), should help capture sharp and steady photos and videos even in low light.

It is expected to come with 8GB of RAM. It is likely to run on Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI interface on top.

Samsung Galaxy M56 5G Battery

The capacity is not revealed yet, but it is expected to have a 5000mAh battery and 45W fast charging. The base variant is likely to have 128GB of internal storage, and other variants may come as well. Having a hybrid SIM slot could give the option to expand the storage up to 1 TB.

It is expected to have 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB-C support. It is likely to have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Samsung Galaxy M56 5G Software

The phone has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, Adreno 644 GPU, up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage (with microSD card support). It has USB Type-C, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, dual 5G SIM, and dual-band Wi-Fi. The in-display fingerprint scanner works well.

There is no 3.5mm headphone jack. The Galaxy M55 5G comes with Android 14-based One UI 6.1. It has a few pre-installed apps and ads on the lock screen, but the rest of the phone is pretty clean.

Samsung is promising four years of OS updates and five years of security patches for this phone, which is commendable. Most phones in this price range only offer major OS updates for up to 2 years. The box contains only the phone, some papers, a SIM ejector tool, and a Type-C cable; no charger is provided.

In terms of software features, you get Always on Display, One-handed Mode, Quick Share, Live Caption, Kids Mode, Screen Recorder, Link to Windows, Multi-window Support, and more. It includes most of the features of One UI 6.1 except Samsung DeX and AI features from Samsung’s Galaxy AI Suite.

Samsung Galaxy M56 5G Performance

In terms of performance, the Galaxy M55 performs well in everyday use, such as playing games and streaming content. Most people, including me, would be thankful to Samsung for powering this phone with a Snapdragon chipset. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 may not be a new chipset, but it is better than the Exynos 1380 SoC in the Galaxy M54.

You won’t notice a big difference in normal use, but when you perform resource-intensive tasks on the phone, the Snapdragon chipset performs better and is also more efficient.

The display of the Galaxy M55 5G also offers smooth performance, thanks to its adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display that offers full-HD+ resolution and a peak brightness of 1000 nits.

I had no problem using this phone even in direct sunlight. The colors of the display are quite punchy, but there are no color modes available if you want to do color tuning. The viewing angles of the display are also good.
