WhatsApp is Working on 6 Additional Emojis for inclusion in a future update of the app after announcing the first animated emoji, the Partying Face emoji! with Lottie in development. If you don’t know about it, Lottie is an optimised library that enables designers to quickly create animations that are small in size while maintaining their proportions and quality.
WhatsApp is Working on 6 Additional Emojis
Last month, it was revealed that WhatsApp was working on an animated emojis feature with Lottie. This new cosmetic feature is undoubtedly a welcome addition because, as we have seen, many users have asked for it over the past few years.
A video showcasing the first animated emoji created with Lottie—the Partying Face emoji—was published alongside the article in which we first revealed the feature. As of right now, WhatsApp is developing 6 more animated emojis for a future app update!
This video shows that in addition to the Partying Face emoji that we previously noticed, before the feature was released, WhatsApp is still working on supporting more animated emojis.
What Are The 6 New Animated Emojis?
The emojis Fire, Red Heart, Loudly Crying Face, Face with Open Mouth, and Face with Joy Tears were among the ones they specifically made. These particular emojis, in our opinion, were chosen by WhatsApp because they may be the ones that users of all instant messaging services use the most frequently.
Even though animated emojis will be welcomed by many users, some people who prefer a simple messaging experience without extra animations may find them distracting. It would be useful to have a toggle option within WhatsApp Settings in order to manage this feature.
When Will This Feature Come Into WhatsApp?
It will be included in a subsequent update of WhatsApp Desktop beta. Sending animated emojis is still in the works. WhatsApp is working to add the same feature to a future update of WhatsApp beta for iOS and Android.
