Have you been hearing rumors about the iPhone 15 lately? Well Apple is actually planning to release a total of four iPhone 15 models in the same sizes as the iPhone 14 models, including two 6.1-inch iPhones and two 6.7-inch iPhones.

In this article we will tell you about What’s New In Apple iPhone 15? So that you can make your buying decision whether this new iPhone is worth getting.

What’s New In Apple iPhone 15?

Here are some probable changes that you may find in the new iPhone 15 lineup that is going to be launched on 12th September-

Design

The iPhone 15 models are anticipated to resemble the iPhone 14 models, but the pill-and-hole cutout will be present on every model. This means that all iPhone 15 models will forgo the notch and instead use the Dynamic Island design first seen on the iPhone 14 Pro models.

The 6.1-inch iPhone 15, 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Max, and 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max are the four models that Apple will continue to offer.

Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro lineup is anticipated to have more curved front glass that blends better into the frame and titanium instead of stainless steel for the chassis.

Major Changes In Designs

The USB-C port will be used in place of the Lightning port on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, and the Dynamic Island will replace the notch. All iPhone models will now have USB-C ports, while the Dynamic Island debuted with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Along with the Dynamic Island, all iPhone 15 models may come with a more power-efficient OLED display driver chip that is produced using a 28nm process. This could result in decreased power consumption and, ultimately, longer battery life for all models.

Despite the switch to Dynamic Island, the standard iPhone 15 models will not have ProMotion or always-on display technology. These features will still only be available on Pro devices, according to Apple.

iPhone 15 Pro Adopting USB-C Port And Action Button

Even though the USB-C port will be used by all iPhone 15 models, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will only feature a few unique design elements.

In order to be in compliance with new rules implemented in Europe, Apple is replacing the Lightning port on the iPhone 15 devices with a USB-C port.

Apple must either change its global design or create unique iPhones specifically for the European market because these regulations require Apple to produce iPhones with USB-C ports in the region.

The upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models are set to include an “Action Button” of the mute switch, which will allow users to quickly access functionalities, like shortcuts, camera, flashlight and silent mode.

Apple iPhone 15 Leaked Photos

Some leaked photos of the iPhone 15 showcase a feature called the Dynamic Island expected to be available on all iPhone 15 models starting in 2023. These images also confirm that the overall design of the iPhone 15 will bear a resemblance to its predecessor, the iPhone 14.

Notable updates in the iPhone 15 include a transition to USB C and the replacement of the notch with the Dynamic Island. However it’s worth mentioning that only the iPhone 15 Pro models will showcase design changes such, as a pronounced edge curve and a titanium frame.

The new models will have slightly different power and volume buttons that are slightly lower than those on the iPhone 14 Pro models, according to iPhone 15 Pro case leaks. For the USB-C port, the cases have a larger cutout at the bottom.

The All New A17 Chip

While the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will use the 4-nanometer A16 chip that was first used in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, the faster A17 chips will only be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

USB-C Data Transfer Speeds

Compared to standard iPhone 15 models, the iPhone 15 Pro models will support faster data transfers thanks to their USB-C ports, giving them an advantage over the standard models.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst, claims that “at least” USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3 support will be provided by the iPhone 15 Pro models. Video and other file types would be able to be transferred from one iPhone 15 Pro model to another much more quickly after the upgrade.

While USB 3.2 supports speeds of up to 20Gb/s, USB 2.0 is only capable of 480Mb/s of data transfer. Data transfer rates could reach 40Gb/s if Apple provides Thunderbolt 3 support for the iPhone 15 Pro models.

According to a leaker with a track record of accurately reporting some Apple information, the cable included with the iPhone 15 models may only support USB 2.0 transfer speeds.

He asserts that the cables’ maximum USB 2.0 data transfer speed is 480 MB/s, the same as Lightning. With a separate Thunderbolt cable purchase, the iPhone 15 Pro models might be able to support faster Thunderbolt transfer speeds.

Fast And Wireless Charging

A suitable power adapter would enable faster charging for at least some of the iPhone 15 models, which could support charging speeds of up to 35W. It’s unclear whether this feature will be offered on all iPhone 15 models or only the iPhone 15 Pro models.

The iPhone 15 models will support Qi2 and MagSafe charging, enabling 15W charging from third-party accessories that do not support MagSafe. As long as those accessories use Qi2, it will enable faster wireless charging even from accessories that do not officially support MagSafe.

Will There Be Touch ID?

The iPhone 15 models may not include Touch ID and will instead continue to use Face ID, despite ongoing rumors suggesting Apple has considered bringing Touch ID back to its flagship iPhones using an under-display solution.

Apple is developing an under-display Face ID feature, but it won’t be ready until at least 2025. Instead, the iPhone 15 will continue to utilise the Dynamic Island in 2023, and Apple is anticipated to expand its use to all models as opposed to just the Pro models.

Pricing

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg claims that Apple may increase the price of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. Analyst Jeff Pu has also suggested price hikes, saying that Apple could set the iPhone 15 Pro’s starting price at $1,099 rather than the $999 it did for the iPhone 14 Pro.

If Pu’s prediction comes true, the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max would start at $1,199. Another analyst predicted that the starting price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be up to $200 more than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The base iPhone 15 model should cost $799 and there won’t be a price increase for the standard iPhone 15 models.
