Early Life
Rinku Singh was born on 12 October 1997 in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh. Rinku Singh loved playing cricket since his childhood. But due to his poor financial condition, he had to leave cricket. His father’s name is Khan Chandra Singh, who delivers gas cylinders. Also, his mother’s name is Veena Singh, who is Homemaker.
Rinku Singh has a total of 5 siblings, out of which he is the third son. Rinku Singh’s elder brother and sister both help their parents in running the household.
He had to leave cricket due to the poor economic condition of the house and he studied only till ninth grade. After this, he wanted to do a job, but due to being less educated, he could not get any job. Rinku Singh, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, began his cricketing journey representing his state at various levels. At the age of 16, he made his List A debut for Uttar Pradesh in March 2014, showcasing his talent by scoring 83 runs in that match.
He went on to make his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy during the 2016-17 season. In the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy, Singh emerged as the highest run-scorer for Uttar Pradesh in the group stage, accumulating an impressive 803 runs in nine matches.
He continued his stellar performance throughout the tournament, ending with a total of 953 runs in ten matches. Singh’s consistent contributions with the bat showcased his skills and solidified his position as a key player for his team.
IPL Career
In the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, Rinku Singh was purchased by the Kings XI Punjab team. The following year, in the 2018 IPL auction, he was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a substantial amount of 80 lakh.
Unfortunately, Rinku Singh had to miss the 2021 IPL due to a knee injury, and he was replaced by Gurkeerat Singh Mann. However, in the 2022 IPL auction, he was once again picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders, highlighting their confidence in his abilities.

Rinku Singh Controversy
In 2019, Rinku Singh faced a suspension imposed by the Board of Cricket for Cricket in India (BCCI) due to his involvement in an unofficial T20 tournament held in Abu Dhabi.
The BCCI found that Singh had violated their rules and regulations by participating in the league without obtaining prior authorization from the organization. BCCI guidelines strictly prohibit players registered with the board from competing in any overseas events.
As a consequence of his actions, Rinku Singh was handed a three-month suspension, which took effect immediately from June 1. Consequently, he was excluded from the India ‘A’ team that was scheduled to play against Sri Lanka ‘A’ on May 31, 2019.
