Now, if you have not touched your Google account for more than two years, then there is a chance that it can be removed. Cleaning of passive accounts is going to start from this Friday. If your account is labeled as ‘passive’ and there is a danger of being removed, Google will send you information on the email and its recover address (if you have installed any). However, if you are learning about this new policy and want to ensure that your belongings on Google Drive, Docs, Gmail and other services are safe, then you should know this.

Why is this policy being implemented?
Google is implementing this policy for several reasons, including:
Increasing number of inactive accounts: Millions of passive Gmail accounts that are no longer used. It has become a burden for Google to manage passive accounts and use resources more efficiently.
Safety concerns: Inactive accounts are considered a safety risk as they can be vulnerable with old or reused passwords. By removing these accounts, Google can help prevent them from being misused.
Data Management: Google is committed to users’ data safe and private. By removing inactive accounts, Google can save users’ data as well as save storage space in its data centers.
How to Save Gmail account from Deletion
Follow these steps to ensure that your Gmail account is not removed:
Sign in regularly to your account: Sign in in your Gmail account at least every two years. This shows that your account is active and will not be removed.
