AGI poses a serious danger to humanity

Musk has believed for a long time that AGI is a serious danger to humanity. It may be the greatest existential risk we face today.

Musk’s lawsuit includes complaints about contract breach, breach of fiduciary duties and unfair business practices. Musk was an initial board member of OpenAI from its inception until 2018.

The lawsuit claims that OpenAI’s initial work was done in public, with free access to models, designs and code.

OpenAI researchers found that a Google algorithm called Transformers could perform natural language tasks with no explicit training. This discovery sparked a community of people to improve and extend OpenAI’s models.

Altman, CEO of OPENAI

Altman was appointed CEO of OpenAI in 2019. OpenAI and Microsoft signed an exclusive licensing agreement on September 22, 2020 to license the Generative Pretrained Transformer 3 language model.

Microsoft’s license is only valid for OpenAI’s pre AGI technology. Microsoft has no rights to AGI. Microsoft didn’t get any rights on AGI.

Musk claimed that the lawsuit was filed in order to force OpenAI, the world’s biggest technology company, to adhere to the founding agreement.

This would allow OpenAI to return to its original mission of creating AGI to benefit humanity and not individual defendants. It should be done for personal gain.
